Nollywood Actress, Ngozi Ezeonu Raises Alarm Over Rising Circulation of Fake Medicines, Baby Food

 

Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu has raised the alarm over the growing circulation of fake and substandard medicines, baby food and other potentially harmful products in the country. 

Ezeonu expressed concern over the increasing availability of counterfeit products, warning that the trend poses a serious threat to public health, particularly to vulnerable groups such as children. 

The actress called for greater vigilance among consumers and stronger action by relevant regulatory and enforcement authorities to check the circulation of fake products. 

She stressed the need for Nigerians to be cautious about where they purchase medicines, baby food and other products consumed by families, particularly as counterfeiters continue to exploit unsuspecting members of the public. 

The development has heightened concerns over the safety of products entering the Nigerian market, with fake medicines capable of causing treatment failure and other serious health complications. Baby food is also a major concern because infants and young children depend heavily on such products for proper nutrition and development. 

Ezeonu’s warning comes amid growing calls for tighter regulation, effective monitoring of supply chains and tougher enforcement against individuals and businesses involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit products. 

She urged Nigerians not to take the issue lightly, stressing the need for collective vigilance to protect families and prevent avoidable deaths and health complications linked to fake and unsafe products. 

The actress further called for increased public awareness to enable consumers to identify suspicious products and report them to the appropriate authorities.
