The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Niger State, Mamman Nami, has vowed to recover funds allegedly looted by Governor Umaru Bago and retrieve properties purportedly acquired with the money in Dubai, Brazil, Lagos, Abuja and other locations.
Nami made the declaration on Wednesday during an engagement with PDP leaders at the party’s secretariat in Minna, where he outlined his proposed approach to governance if elected governor.
The PDP candidate pledged to pursue the recovery of public funds allegedly diverted under Bago’s administration, alongside properties he claimed were acquired with such funds.
He also promised that his administration would not tolerate the diversion of public resources or engage in projects he considers misplaced and unproductive.
Nami assured party leaders that, if elected, his government would prioritise accountability, prudent management of public funds and projects that directly address the needs of Niger State residents.
