Dog Owner Arrested After Three Dogs Attack Telecom Technician in Edo

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a woman identified as Ughanlunen Sandra after three dogs allegedly attacked a telecommunications technician in the Okhoro area of Benin City.

The victim, Ajani Taiwo, was reportedly carrying out an MTN network installation at a site behind the Okhoro Police Division when the incident occurred.

According to the police, Taiwo, who resides on Adesagbon Street, off Okhoro Road in Egor Local Government Area, had visited the location to carry out the installation work.

The command’s spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, said the technician contacted the person responsible for the power supply to gain access to the site.

She explained that shortly after the door was opened, three dogs allegedly attacked Taiwo before their owner arrived at the scene.

Following the attack, Taiwo raised an alarm, attracting nearby residents who reportedly rushed to the location and helped rescue him from the dogs.

He was later taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment after sustaining several injuries, including a head injury.

The victim subsequently reported the incident at the Okhoro Police Division, leading to the arrest of the dog owner.

The police said investigation into the matter is ongoing.
