Dr. Innocent Bello Assumes Duty As MD, EDOGIS

The new Managing Director of Edo State Geographic Information Service (EdoGIS), Dr. Innocent Ehiaguina Bello, officially assumed duty on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.


This followed his successful screening by the State House of Assembly and subsequent swearing in by His Excellency, the Governor of Edo State, Sen. Monday  Okpebholo on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.



Upon arrival, the Acting Managing Director, Dr. Tunde Eigbiremolen, formally received and welcomed the new Managing Director to EdoGIS and held a brief meeting with him , during which a comprehensive overview of the activities, operations, and ongoing engagements of the Agency was presented to the new Managing Director.


During the session, the outgoing Acting Managing Director handed over relevant official documents to the new Managing Director to facilitate a smooth transition.


Thereafter, Dr. Tunde Eigbiremolen conducted the new Managing Director on an extensive tour of the EdoGIS office complex, introducing him to members of staff and management across various departments and units. 


During the tour, Heads of Units and Departments gave brief introductions, and highlighted their respective responsibilities as well as challenges affecting their operations.


In his remarks, the new Managing Director identified areas where service delivery requires improvement,  noting that certain urgent steps will be taken to address such.


 He proposed realistic and practical solutions to the challenges outlined to strengthen operational efficiency and enhance service delivery within the Agency.


The Managing Director further emphasized the need for professionalism and discipline among staff, adding that all personnel must maintain proper conduct and dress appropriately as civil and public servants. 


Dr. Bello  directed that staff must wear their official identity cards at all times and stressed that there will be zero tolerance for lateness and any form of lackadaisical attitude to work.


He, however, expressed his commitment to adopting the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis framework as a strategic tool for documenting and analyzing institutional challenges, assuring that he will present same to the Governor, Sen.Monday Okpebholo in due course.


The official handover  and tour  of the Agency's Units and facility was rounded off with renewed assurances of collaboration, improved service delivery, and a shared commitment by Management and Staff to advance the vision of EdoGIS in line with the SHINE Agenda of the Edo State Government.
