The Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) community has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden death of a former student and serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), identified as Lucky, popularly known as Malouda.
The late Sociology graduate reportedly collapsed during a football training session on Thursday evening, March 19, 2026, at a play pitch. Efforts to revive him at the scene were unsuccessful, as he was later confirmed dead.

Lucky was widely known among peers for his commanding presence on the field, particularly his defensive strength and leadership during his time at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Until his death, he was actively serving his country under the NYSC scheme.
His unexpected passing has left friends, colleagues, and members of the university community in shock, with tributes pouring in from those who remember him as dedicated, energetic, and passionate about football.
The incident adds to growing concerns over sudden health emergencies during sporting activities, especially among young adults.
