The Chairman of the North Central Governors Forum and Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi A. Sule, on Sunday joined fellow state governors in a high-level delegation led by Vice President Kashim Shettima to pay the traditional Sallah homage to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The visit, which followed the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, served not only as a customary festive engagement but also as a critical platform for discussions on national security concerns.
During the meeting, the delegation of governors briefed President Tinubu on the evolving security situation in Maiduguri, particularly in light of recent explosions that have heightened tensions in the region.
The governors emphasized the need for sustained federal intervention and coordinated efforts to address emerging threats and ensure the safety of residents.
Governor Sule’s presence underscored the commitment of North Central leaders to national unity and collaborative governance, especially at a time when security challenges require collective action across all tiers of government.
The Sallah homage remains a longstanding tradition, symbolizing unity, respect, and continued dialogue between Nigeria’s leadership during festive periods.
