Fresh controversy has erupted in the Benin Royal Palace as Queen Ewuare pushed back against her reported expulsion, insisting that the controversial visit of popular streamer Peller was duly authorised.

The crisis began after the Benin Traditional Council condemned the TikToker’s visit, describing it as a breach of palace protocol and a desecration of its sacred grounds. The council, through its Secretary, Frank Irabor, announced that disciplinary action had been taken against individuals involved, including the queen.

However, in a dramatic twist, Queen Ewuare took to social media to challenge the council’s claims, accusing it of falsehood and attempting to shift blame onto her.

She shared what she described as evidence—a stamped letter dated February 23, addressed to Oba Ewuare II—notifying the palace of Peller’s planned visit and requesting a brief audience with the monarch.

According to the letter, the visit was initially scheduled for March 3 before being moved to March 6, and was to be accompanied by palace-linked personalities.

While the document indicates it was received by the palace, it does not explicitly confirm formal approval—an ambiguity that has further deepened the controversy.

Backing the claim of prior notice, Peller’s handlers, City Plug Management, also stated that a formal request had been submitted ahead of the visit. They, however, admitted that certain moments during the outing may have appeared inappropriate, stressing that any perceived misconduct was unintentional.

Despite the mounting dispute, Queen Ewuare suggested that the uproar goes beyond the visit itself, hinting at deeper, undisclosed issues within palace circles.
