The gale of defections blowing across the state has hit Etsako Central local government Council, following the official resignation of a Special Assistant (S A) to the Executive Chairman of Etsako Central Council, Mr. Seidu Suleiman.
The resignation, is unconnected with the current political conflict of interest between him (Suleiman) and the embattled Chairman of the local government, Mr.John Osi Akhigbe.
According to the former Special Assistant, said, he decided to quit the embattled administration of Mr.John Akhigbe based on the fact that he prefers to be in the APC as loyal and committed party man to contribute his quote towards the Victory of Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu come September 19.
Addressing Ogbona APC Youths numbering over a hundred at the residence of a Chieftain of the party and POI Campaign Coordinator in Ward four, King Benji Igbadumhe, Mr.Suleiman said, the administration of Mr.Godwin Obaseki has no single achievement in Ward four to encourage him to support his re election bid.
While pledging his total support for the All Progressives Congress Governorship and deputy governorship candidates, Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu, Mr.Suleiman said,more Special Assistants are due to resign from the failed administration in the local government before the end of August.
Also speaking, a Frontline Musician in Edo State cum Politician, King Benji Igbadumhe, thanked Mr. Seidu Suleiman for the courageous and timely decision to dump the sinking People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress.
King Igbadumhe, urged the Youths to double the efforts to win more members to the APC to give overwhelming victory to Pastor Ize Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu come Saturday 19th September, 2020.
In his remarks, the Councillor representing Ward four, Hon.Roger Kadiri Okozi, commended Mr.Suleiman for identifying with the Progressives, adding, that history would be Kind to him for not betraying the trust the people of the Ward had in him and urged him to work assiduously to ensure Victory for the All Progressives Congress.
Highlights was presentation of APC membership card to Mr.Suleiman by the Party Chairman in the Ward, Mr.Famous Umoru.
It would be recalled that Mr.Seidu Suleiman,is the first Special Assistant to resign from the administration.
Mr.Seidu Suleiman, is a loyalist of High Chief Richard Okozi, an APC Chieftain from the area.
The Edo governorship election is scheduled to hold on Saturday 19th September, 2020.
