The Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has received the members of the PDP New Media Front who are formerly loyal to former governor Sule Lamido at the Government House, Dutse.
The members numbering about 200 have defected to the APC in appreciation of the laudable projects and transformations either executed or completed by the present administration of Governor Badaru.
The leader of the defectors Engr. Sa'idu Ibrahim Uba attributed their decision to join the APC to injustice and tyranny of the PDP at all levels, and described the PDP as a dead party that doesn't appreciate loyalty of its members.
Saidu Uba said as they defect to APC, they are set to work in line with the APC change mantra and work hard towards winning the subsequent elections.
Saidu Uba who confessed that they were blinded by sheer sentiments in the past despite knowing Governor Badaru meant well for Jigawa and its people therefore asks for the forgiveness of the Governor for their inability to admit his capacity and affirm their loyalty before now.
Responding, Governor Badaru who described their defection as the end of PDP ideology among youths, thanked them for their bold steps and urged them to keep faith with the party.
The Governor enjoined them to engage on issue based campaigns, not on throwing insults and tantrums to the opposition.
He said his administration was built on transparency and honesty unlike the previous governments that were autocratic in nature.
Governor Badaru promised to give the defectors equal right with the old APC members and a level playing field to achieve their political desires.
The decampees were drawn from different platforms which comprises loyalists of Sule Lamido, Tijjani Ibrahim Kiyawa, Alhaji Danladi Auyo and Barr. Yakubu Ruba.
