The Delta State Police Command has announced significant successes in its anti-crime operations for the month of July 2025, with numerous recoveries and arrests made across the State.
Speaking during a press briefing, the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, revealed that under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, the Command made remarkable progress in curbing criminal activities and improving public safety.
According to CP Abaniwonda, the Command recovered a total of 18 firearms and 359 rounds of live ammunition and cartridges during various operations. In a major development, officers also retrieved ₦8.5 million in ransom money, suspected to have been paid to kidnappers.
In addition, the police recovered 378 laptops and mobile phones believed to be stolen, along with the arrest of 211 suspects involved in crimes ranging from armed robbery and kidnapping to burglary and fraud.
“These recoveries and arrests are the result of coordinated intelligence-led operations, swift responses to distress calls, and continued collaboration with local communities,” CP Abaniwonda stated.
He reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security across Delta State, urging the public to continue to support the police by sharing credible and timely information.
“The safety of our communities is a collective responsibility. We call on residents to partner with the police by reporting suspicious activities and criminals in their neighbourhoods,” the Commissioner added.
