The Edo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Samson Osagie, has called on stakeholders to forge stronger partnerships in order to ensure the successful implementation of key development projects across the State.
Dr Osagie made this call during a high-level stakeholders’ engagement meeting held in Benin City on land allocation for the proposed Ologbo Condensate Refinery project. The meeting brought together key representatives from the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), Edo State Geographic Information Service (EdoGIS), and Presco Plc.
Emphasising the importance of cooperation and legal compliance, the Attorney General noted that the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo remains firmly committed to fast-tracking projects that will unlock the State’s economic potential and improve the livelihoods of its citizens.
“The proposed refinery project holds immense prospects for the development of Edo’s oil and gas sector. It is imperative that all stakeholders work in harmony, guided by the rule of law, to ensure that this investment delivers on its promise,” Dr Osagie stated.
Participants at the meeting made various presentations and reaffirmed their dedication to a collaborative approach that prioritises community benefit and sustainable growth.
The synergy between government agencies and private partners, according to officials, is expected to create a business-friendly environment, generate employment opportunities for residents, and boost the State’s economic outlook.
The Ologbo Condensate Refinery project is one of several strategic initiatives aimed at repositioning Edo as a hub for industrial and energy-based investment.
