The Executive Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government Council of Edo State, Comrade John Osi Akhigbe felicitated with Etsako Central, Edo State has charged Nigerians to work against acts capable of truncating the Nation's Democracy while displaying the spirit of patriotism.
In a Press Statement Issued in Fugar, the headquarter of the Local Government Area by his Chief Press Secretary, Comr. Ibrahim Umaru, The Council Chairman enjoined Nigerians to always imbibe the spirit of patriotism and above all to continue to sacrifice for the betterment of our dear nation.
He admonished Nigerians to be proud of their country and work in unison irrespective of Political, religious and ethnic diversities to ensure the continued corporate existence of the country as he equally expressed his optimism that Nigeria would get it right with the crop of leaders we are blessed to have.
According to the Statement, Akhigbe on behalf of the good people of Etsako Central Local Government Area congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the 2020 60th Independence Day Celebration marked today October 1, 2020.
The Council Chairman urged Nigerians to continue to work together in unity so as to surmount the challenges threatening to destabilise our Democratic experience and undo the gains achieved in the past.
Akhigbe has observed that at 60 the journey has not been easy as the country has witnessed economic and political setback, which has jeopardized efforts aimed at improving the living of our citizen in the Country. He noted that Government would continue to develop solution to address challenges in all sectors of the economy and work towards the actualization of the dreams of our founding fathers whose service was premised on the peaceful coexistence and progress of our fatherland which should be Paramount in all our doings as it's the panacea that would bring about the much needed development of the country, he admonished
He also congratulated the Governor, Godwin Obaseki for his desirous effort to take Edo State to her zenith of progress, and President Muhammadu Buhari and others as they navigate the country on the path of Unity, Progresss and development, success remain our fervent prayers, May Nigeria Succeed! Akhigbe added.
