Speaker of Edo state House of Assembly Rt Hon. Frank Okiye has re-iterated the determination of the House to join hands with Governor Godwin Obaseki to consolidate his developmental stride in the state in the four years of his next administration.
Rt. Hon. Okiye who said this while speaking with newsmen on the occasion of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Edo state chapter thanksgiving service for Governor Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shaibu disclosed that the recent victory of the Governor at the poll has provided a fertile ground for such collaboration to achieve the desired transformation for the state.
The Speaker expressed gratitude to the State chapter of CAN for organizing the thanksgiving service for Governor Obaseki and Rt Hon Shaibu emphasizing that their electoral victory has silenced all hindrances to the smooth running of the legislative process of the House, paving the way for a robust enactment that will ensure rapid development of the State.
Describing the victory of Godwin Obaseki and Rt. Hon. Shaibu as ordained by God the lawmaker promised to key into the process to ensure that God’s will for the state prevailed.
Speaking on the occasion Governor Obaseki commended the House for its support and confidence in his outgoing administration and thanked Christians as well as Muslims in the state for their prayers during the electioneering campaign.
He promised continuous determination and selflessness in his Strive to surpass present achievements during his second tenure.
In a remark, the Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu assured that Governor Obaseki is committed to developing the state and as a child of God he will deliver his promise to Edo people.
Congratulating Governor Obaseki and Rt Hon. Shaibu for their success at the poll, chairman CAN Edo State Bishop Oyonude Kure Said their victory is an expression of the desire of God and the believe of Edo people in the commitment of the Governor towards their welfare.
In a sermon Apostle Eunice Osagiede said that Obaseki’s victory is deliverance from the grip of forces slowing down development in the State.
She said like the biblical Joseph, Obaseki’s mission should be to save life of the people of the state by pursing programs that will eliminate their plight.
Prayers were offered for the success of the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shaibu, the entire State as well as the country at large
In another development, Rt.Hon. Frank Okiye was at Christ Chosen Church of God Airport Road in Benin City where he felicitated with SNR Deaconess Priscilla Numa on her 70th birthday.
The Speaker, who attends same Church with the celebrant described the septuagenarian as a mother whose advice has benefited him so much and prayed for longer life and good health for the SNR Deaconess.
