It is now clearly manifest that the policy on rice production of incumbent administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is bearing fruit.
Government Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state who is the Vice Chairman, National Food Security Council and Chairman, of Progressives Governors Forum, reaffirmed this during a visit to Lolo Rice Mill Kamba owned by renown entrepreneur Alhaji Sahabi Lolo, this Saturday.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu is glad that the policy of Rice Programme to improve production of local rice has yielded positive result, in spite of the flooding recently experienced in the country, including Kebbi state.
He acknowledged Lolo Rice Mill Kamba has general employment opportunity, and enhanced economic activity among the people of the state.
The Governor would want more investment into rice milling in view of the large quantity of paddy rice available in the state.
He further acknowledged that Kebbi state has witnessed the setting up of several rice mills while small-scale entrepreneurship has continue to thrive, expressing the readiness of his administration’s determination to sustaining support to industrial development.
In a remarks, the Governor of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar commended the owner Alhaji Sahabi Lolo for erecting such gigantic project, which has immensely improved rice processing and quantity.
Governor Badaru Abubakar commended Kebbi state Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu who is the Vice Chairman, National Food Security Council and Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum for his tireless commitment, enthusiasm and zeal to ensuring the actualization of self-sufficiency in rice production by Nigeria.
The proprietor of the rice mill, the APC Vice Chairman Kebbi North, Alhaji Sahabi expressed gratitude to the Governors for the visits and affirmed commitment to the provision of employment to the people and encouraging farmers to enhance rice production.
In a separate development, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu along with his Jigawa state counterpart, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar had parley with APC Social Media North-West operators in Birnin Kebbi.
The governors commended social media members in the zone, for their publicity of events and urged them to be a vigilant, honest truthful and avoid hearsay.
The Chairman, North-West Zone APC Social Media Forum, Ahmad Rufa’i Gumel led members of the association to the parley and inspection of project executed across the state.
