Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Edo State Mr Benjamin Atu, has called on the people of Edo State to give Governor Godwin Obaseki and Comrade Philip Shaibu the mandate to continue in office for a second term as Governor and Deputy Governor respectively.
"The volumes of Government programmes and projects of the Obaseki administration, are creating wealth and job opportunities, reviving collapsed business enterprises, stimulating agriculture and local food production.
"Democracy can't be more decent and responsive than what we have seen and witnessed in Edo State under the current administration. Infact, Obaseki has demonstrated to us the true bible of democracy and it requires our collective efforts in moving democracy forward by ensuring his reelection," Atu declared.
The media Aide revealed that the very few, most Vocal Critics of Governor Godwin Obaseki, are those that were Colossal failures during their era both in the State and at the federal level, who couldn't blaze their trail and who in actuality are owing the people of Edo State an apology for mismanagement of the State's resources.
He maintained that, the political history of the critics, has made their criticism against Governor Godwin Obaseki a mere heap of rubbish because all the attacks against the incumbent administration are unwarranted and geared towards scoring cheap political points in their desperation in seeking for political relevance.
"The infrastructural development that has been executed by the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki in less than four years, has already exceeded what the Oshiomhole tenure recorded in eight years where the people of Edo Central were totally neglected without even distribution of infrastructural development across the State.
According to him, "Governor Godwin Obaseki should be commended and applauded for returning the era of equitable dispensation of the State resources which has been the bed rock of his administration and indeed has re-connected all part of the state that were previously cut off due to absence of infrastructural development.
"The people of Edo State are still baffled about Oshiomhole's latest claim of being a godfather, when he told the World he was born to fight godfatherism and used the state resources to harass late Chief Tony Anenih and vowed not to develop Edo Central because of Chief Tony Anenih. He even extended his political vindictivness to the entire Esan community by removing their traditional ruler in order to silence them from the scheme of things.
"We are baffled about how such an individual was able to lead a campaign to seek for votes from the same People he previously neglected during his era as Governor.
"The people of Edo State must come out boldly to decided their destiny by rejecting every form of intimidation, threat, and violence. Leaders and elders must lead by example. It is unacceptable for those who are called elders and Leaders to make unguarded and inflammatory statements capable of breaching the peace and unity of the State," the Edo Deputy Governor's aide charged.
Atu assured that Governor Godwin Obaseki will continue to deepen the mechanism of governance and service delivery in various parts of the state to ensure the well being of the citizenry, when he is reelected as Governor in the forth coming September Governorship election.
