A total of 50,488 people had been infected with the COVID-19 disease in Nigeria. The fiqure followed 593 new cases recorded on Wednesday, 19Th August, 2020.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, tweeted Wednesday night that out of the 50,488 confirmed cases,
37,304 patients were discharged and 985 deaths recorded
Plateau State led the table of States with daily cases, having 186 new cases. Lagos State had 172, FCT-62, Oyo-27, Delta-25, Rivers-20, Ondo-19, Edo-18, Kaduna-17, Enugu-12.
Others are, Akwa Ibom-10, Ogun-7, Abia-6, Gombe-6, Kano-3 and Osun-3
