He was ranked No 2 in the world in 200m when he was still with Nigeria and ran for the country in Sydney 2000
He developed a knee problem and needed surgery so he approached the Nigerian federation
15,000 dollars was approved for the surgery but guess what
The money disappeared!
Francis was stranded in the hospital for 3 months with no help and support from the Nigerian athletics federation.
When he was bailed by undisclosed means The Federation told him to his face that he was no longer needed.
They told him that they can raise many more Athletes like him so he will not be missed.
Francis decided to dump Nigeria at that point and joined Portugal.
Got his Citizenship that year and represented them in Athens 2004
He won the silver Medal for Portugal in 100m Race while the entire Nigerian Olympics team only Got 2 bronze
He came second behind Justin Gatlin Of USA
Today he is retired and now a personal trainer to C Ronaldo earning fat salaries
He is from Onitsha and grew up there.
He urged other Athletes to leave Nigeria once they get Opportunity.
