Auchi a community in Edo north senatorial district and administrative headquarters of Etsako West local government registered its first rainfall on Monday (today).
The rain, witnessed by this blog started about 6: 16 PM. was preceded by heavy windstorm. It stopped at about 18: 26PM.
Residents of Auchi and environs thanked God for the rain adding that it would reduce heat in their homes.
One of the residents of the community, Mrs. Hassan (surname withheld), a federal civil servant at the Auchi Polytechnic who spoke with this blog said that the rain has cooled the atmosphere and this would enable the residents sleep well.
Also speaking, a motorcycle rider (Okada) Mr. Yakubu Usman thanked God for bringing the rain adding that it would reduce the level of dust which sometimes hinders their commercial activities.
