The Delta State Government has ordered the closure of two private secondary schools and sanctioned no fewer than 16 teachers across the state for their involvement in examination malpractices.
This followed approval of report of the Examination Ethics Disciplinary Committee (EEDC) investigation on indictment of some public and private secondary schools for examination malpractice in the 2018 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) by Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Patrick Ukah.
Ukah explained in a statement in Asaba yesterday, Ukah explained that St. Vincent College, Ovwian, whose candidates wrote the 2018 WASSCE at Anointed Secondary School, Ubogo, without WAEC or the ministry approval should to be closed down along with Anointed Secondary School.
