Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala has won the 2019 CAF Female footballer of the year for the fourth time.
At the ceremony held in Hurghada-Egypt, Oshoala was voted the best player of 2019 ahead of Cameroon's Ajara Nchout and South Africa’s forward Thembi Kgatlana who won the award 12 months ago.
The final phase of voting was done by Head Coaches/Technical Directors and captains of senior national teams CAF member associations.
Oshoala, a three time winner of the award in 2014, 2016 and 2017, has now won her fourth title and also equalled the feat of fellow Nigerian, Perpetua Nkwocha.
She was instrumental for Nigeria at the FIFA Women's World Cup in France and also for her club Barcelona.
