Al Shabab in Kenya (the sister to Boko Haram) has attacked and taken over a military base operated by by both the USA and Kenyan defense forces in Kenya.
Both USA and Kenyan military were able to repel the terrorists with warplanes and killed four of them. Al Shabab is linked with Al Quaeda.
Al Quaeda once received logistical support from Iran from inside Iran to helped the group stage an attack on a military facility inside Saudi Arabia some years ago.
