Traffic Alert: Yaba Railway Crossing to be Shutdown

The Lagos State Transport Management Authority has announced that there will be a temporary road closure at the Railway Crossing, Yaba.

The railway crossing will be temporarily shutdown from 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, to 1:00 am on Thursday, October 17, 2019, due to the ongoing track laying for the Lagos-Ibadan Rail Project.


All motorist are advised to make use of the following alternative routes during the temporary railway closure at Yaba, scheduled from tomorrow Wednesday till Thursday.

The agency also recommend alternative roads for those going to Tejusoho Street from Herbert Macaulay Way to pass through Yaba or ply Jibowu - Empire - Moshalasi - Ojuelegba to access Tejuosho.

While all Motorists going to Tejuosho Street from Ikorodu Road are enjoined to go through Fadeyi - Dormanlong Bridge - Ojuelegba - Tejuosho; or through Fadeyi - Jibowu - Empire - Moshalasi - Ojuelegba - Tejuosho Street to reach their destinations.

Lagosians and motorist are advised to comply to the traffic alert so as to avoid congestion on railway at Yaba during the scheduled maintenance timeline rehabilitations.

LASTMA and law enforcement officers of the Nigerian Police Traffic division will be available to manage the flow of traffic and diversion respectively.
