The leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Etsako central local govt. of Edo State headed by Comrade Suleiman Bagudu as the LGA party Chairman has denied and condemned  the recent media post by the local government executive chairman's media aide and one other hanger,  on behalf of the entire APC family in the local government to the effect that the local govt chapter of the party has endorsed Gov. Godwin Obaseki for a second term in office.

The LGA and the party leaders unanimously  denied and condemned the ugly, wicked  and desperate endorsement of Godwin Obaseki for second term as they claimed and published on Friday 12th October, 2019.

The  only meeting that was held  at the party secretariat was to discuss etsako central exclusion and marginalization in the state affairs including the non inauguration of the House member-elect representing the local government in the state Assembly and other issues confronting the party, which was tagged  "APC stakeholders meeting" and not Obaseki's endorsement meeting.

Speaking with the media, Comrade Suleiman Bagudu, the LGA party chairman with other leaders of the party expressed their shocks and surprises  over  the position of desperate politicians who think they are smart to have deceived Etsako Central people with their nefarious attitude and action.

The entire APC in the local government wants to further use this medium to categorically state it clearly that no meeting of such was held in the local government,  let alone the purportedly orchestrated endorsement.

Furthermore, this is to assure the  local government, the state and most especially the national  working committee that the party leadership and followership in the local govt  are ever ready  to  stand by the decisions and directives  of the national leadership of  the party at all times  in respect of any endorsement, primaries and candidacy for the party in the next governorship election come 2020.

According Comrade Suleiman Bagudu he said, "how can I endorse a decision which I was openly opposed to  at the state executive meeting in the presence of the Governor"?

He further stated that, "if any of such may take place in Etsako  central, the meeting is supposed to be convened and presided over by him,  and a quorum must be formed" according to the party constitution and this  was never followed.

And looking at the party constitution, article-25 paragraph F, figure I. states as follows:

" with the exception of the following listed motions,  no motion shall be entertained at party executive meetings unless at least three days(3) notice of such motion has been given in writing to the chairman before the meeting" and  this is clearly against their position that a motion of Obaseki's endorsement was moved by Hon Damia lawani according to the media report who happens to be the wrong person for such motion if at all.

The party Chairman, was also  concerned  about the way and manner  the Governor and his people belittled themselves  to have instructed the  council chairman and commissioners to deceive the party faithfuls to their clueless and purported endorsement.

If we may ask, "what  has  Obaseki  done in Etsako Central to deserve such endorsement by  the local government?  Is it  because of  the fact that up till now Etsako central member-elect to the state house  of Assembly has not been inaugurated following  the nocturnal and illegal inauguration of the house on the 17th June, 2019.? Was there any other road constructed by the Obaseki administration  apart from Ugbekpe-Anegbete  solid road that was done by Oshiomhole   in Etsako Central? Or has he fulfilled the jobs  he promised our youths to deserve our endorsement?

Finally, our request and demand is for the Obaseki government to respect the party's hierarchy and supremacy  and to humbly obey the directive of the national working committee headed by Comrade Adams Aliyu Eric Oshiomhole. And we also call on the national working committee to come to our rescue as regards the present crisis in the Edo APC to forestal further degeneration.
