Edo APC crisis: Another Local Government disown Obaseki

Nine (9) of eleven (11) ward chairmen in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo state yesterday reiterated their stand on the endorsement of Governor Godwin Obaseki for second term, saying that until the Governor heed the directives of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress and that of the National Assembly, they in the locality have nothing to do with Obaseki's reelection.

In a statement made available to ChrisOsaMediaGroup the 9 ward chairmen spoke through Hon Friday Valentine Okeile, Chairman ward 8, who said no amount of intimidation, or harassment will make them to cave in to endorsing Godwin Obaseki not until he obeys the supremacy of the Party.

Okeile also alleged that, base on their stand against the endorsement, they were summoned by the state party chairman to come to Government House in Benin, which he said they refused to honour.

Reacting to Blessing Agbebaku's comments while addressing news men few days ago, that Owan West is under the control of Governor Godwin Obaseki, Hon Okeile described Blessing as a political prostitute with double edge knife.

“Let me make this very clear, audible to the deaf, no amount of threat, intimidation or harassment by Governor Godwin Obaseki that we in Owan west will endorse him for second term. Firstly, our Edo state house of Assembly member-elect should be sworn in as directed by APC NWC and the National Assembly, after that we can start talking.” he said.

“For that of Hon Blessing Agbebaku, he has no political value in Owan West. He goes to the government house in broad daylight, gathering information, while deluding the state government, assuring them of the LGA's support and come to us at night spreading lies from the pit of hell. Can you trust such a person? Your submission is as good as mine. He is a man of double edge knife, a political prostitute. He can not win his unit not to talk of ward. As we speak to you now , we are showing you our certificate of return as ward chairmen, no fake person here. So, out of eleven ward, nine of us are saying no to Godwin Obaseki's endorsement.” the statement added.
