The 7th Edition of the Anambra Walk4Life monthly exercise programme organized by the Anambra State Sports Development Commission took place in Awka last Saturday. There were over a thousand participants indicating that the new culture of keeping fit and having fun at the same time is beginning to take root.
The tribe is certainly growing and the members are certainly having more and more fun as indicated by this excerpt from a report filed by Onyebuchi Dike, one of the tribe members, in the Walk4Life WhatsApp chat group:
“Anambra Walk 4 Life organized by Anambra Sports Commission every first Saturday of the month took place today. The walk started from Governor's Lodge Amawbia through Amawbia bypass, passed through the flyover at Amawbia Express, down to Akwata flyover, then to Arroma, ended up at Ekwueme square.
“It was an 8.5km walk which got everybody excited at the end.
“The aerobics dance at the main bowl of the square was my best moment as I changed the aerobic dance to traditional steps.
“Hon Iwoba Amayanabor Chukwunonso became the emergency instructor. Ifeanyi Aniagoh was missing the steps, I don't know why.
“The Best MD in Anambra State in Governor's voice Nze Uche Nworah proves to be more fit than all the small boys there. Kalu Umeh drank 5 bottles of water, I don't know why. Engr Ibik Ebuka Kelvin wanted us to get to Amansea and turn, hence not excited.
“Emmanuel Tobee Aniagoh was combining the walk with his photography duty.
I won't say what Chika Ibeneme (Odaa Opuo) was doing.
“In all, it was a worthy experience you wouldn't want to miss. I won't report that there is enough fruits for everyone at the end so some people won't go to the terminal and wait for us in June edition.”
