The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Distinguished Senator Francis Alimikhena has wished the Muslim Faithfuls a pleasant period as they commence the Holy Month of Ramadan.
He admonished them to utilise the period to reflect on issues impeding the advancement of Nigeria, especially on efforts towards bridging the gap between the rich and the poor.

Senator Alimikhena also enjoined those who Providence has smiled on to give substantially to the poor and hungry as one of the lessons of Ramadan is for rich to feel the pangs of hunger which, unfortunately, is the daily lot of the hoi polloi.
The top ranking lawmaker also called on the Muslims to use the period to promote those things that bond Nigerians as well as issues that will downplay nepotic and religious sentiments with their attendant divisive tendencies.
Senator Alimikhena prayed God to give them the grace and strength to observe the tenets of the Holy Month which will usher Nigeria into the Next Level.
He wished the Muslim Ummah a hitch free Ramadan and its derivable blessings. Ramadan Mubarak.
