The Ogun State Police authority has arrested a 65-year-old man for having sexual intercourse with a 10-year-old girl in I pass area of the State.
The man Sulaiman Rauf told detectives investigating his malfeasant defilement of a 10-year-old girl that he was probably under one form of spell or another and ended up blaming the devil for his woe.
The randy old man, source said apparently nursing the thought for sometime, last Sunday, April 7, 2019, decided to accomplish his amorous desire for the girl and invited her on the pretense of sending her on an errand.
Unsuspicious of the suspect's wicked intention, the little girl ran the errand, and went to feed the man back, only for the unexpected to happen. Sulaiman allegedly lured her into his room and sexually assaulted her.
The victim, it was further gathered, got home and narrated her harrowing experience to her father, Fahinhun Matthew, who could not bear the felonious act perpetrated on his daughter, resorted to lodging the complaint to the police.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a press release made available to newsmen, stated that the assaulted girl's father formally lodged a complaint at the Idiroko Police Division, following which, the DPO, CSP Aloko Amodu, swiftly detailed his detectives to No. 7 Araromi Street, Ilase, where the suspect resides and he was promptly arrested.
According to the PPRO, "On interrogation, the randy old man admitted having carnal knowledge of the victim but claimed not to know what led him to it. The victim has been taken to General Hospital, Idiroko for medical attention and report.
"Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labor Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Eleweran in Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution", Oyeyemi said.
