A Nigerian man simply identified as Jack Obinyan-Buhari has taken to the social media to criticise the founder and spiritual leader of the Omega Fire Industry for acquiring a private jet despite economic hardship majority of his followers are experiencing.
According to him, there are many poor people in Nigeria to be assisted with food and money. He wonders why a man of God will spend money meant to help the poor people, widows and the homeless on luxury such as a private jet.
Jack Obinyan Buhari wrote on Facebook:
"Apostle Suleiman, there is hunger in the land, people are dying of hunger, hunger, hunger..."
The Punch newspaper reported that the Cleric had in January 2018, urged the rich to focus on helping the poor rather than buying expensive cars and private jets.
He had preached that wealth was measured by the number of lives one has touched and not by one’s material possessions.
The Cleric said: “A man who pays the school fees consistently for seven people is richer than the man who has a private jet,” the apostle had preached.
Continuing, he said, “Wealth is not the cars you buy; it is not the private jets you buy. Your wealth is the life you have affected.
“You are not termed successful because you have money. Your success in life is a function of how many people who have become successful through your success.
“Success without affecting others is a failure in disguise..."
The new private jet- a Hawker BAe 125-800 reportedly costs a whopping $2,895,000.
