Kebbi state government has commenced the immediate sale of fertilizer for dry season farming throughout the state.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari said each bag is being sold at the subsidized rate of five thousand five hundred naira in all the two hundred and twenty five wards in the state.
The state P.R.O of the APC Alhaji Sani Dododo announced this in Birnin Kebbi after a meeting with Chairmen of Local Government, representatives of Traditional Rulers and Party executives.
He said a farmer was entitled to acquire maximum of six bags while large scale farmers would receive special consideration.
Sani Dododo warned that middlemen and those selling the commodity in open market would be arrested and prosecuted
A total of eight hundred and eighty six thousand metric tonnes of fertilizer would be distributed for irrigation cultivation.
