NYSC Director-General, Major General SZ Kazaure has appealed to Corps Members who are yet to be paid their full election duty allowances for the 2019 General elections to remain calm as efforts are being made with relevant authorities to speed up the payment process.
He said all Corps Members that participated in the elections as INEC ad-hoc staff would receive their entitlements.
Kazaure stated this today in Gombe State Orientation Camp while speaking to the press after addressing 2019 Batch 'A' Corps Members currently undergoing their three weeks Orientation Course.
Earlier in his interaction with the Corps Members, the Director-General urged them to avoid unnecessary journey during the service year but obtain permission from the NYSC if it becomes compulsory for them to travel.
He also admonished them to respect the culture of their host communities adding that all Corps Members must ensure that they leave their host communities better than they met them by providing developmental projects.
"NYSC is all about National Unity and Integration. Shun sharp practices, respect the culture of your host communities and avoid unnecessary journey during your service year", General Kazaure said.
Gombe State Coordinator, Mr David Markson Pwanidi informed the Director-General about the challenges facing the temporary Orientation Camp which include; lack of multi-purpose hall for lectures, erratic power and water supply among others.
A total of 103 Corps Members got emergency relocation from Gombe comprising 75 on health ground including 28 pregnant and nursing mothers.
