Ahead of the forthcoming Gubernatorial Elections, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Jigawa State and former Coordinator of the Jigawa State Subsidy Re-investment Programme (SURE-P), Alhaji Yusuf Alhassan (Barman Gumel), says he has withdrawn from the party and pitched his tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Barman Gumel stated this when he was led by the former Governor of Jigawa State and Director General Badaru/Namadi 2019, Alhaji Ahmad Mahmoud Gumel to the Goverment House, Dutse, said he was no longer with the PDP because of the calibre of its present leaders, who have abandoned the vision of the founding fathers and those who suffered for the party.
Alhaji Yusuf Alhassan said the security situation in Nigeria has greatly improved and that the level of poverty, ethnic, religious and tribal divisions significantly reduced since APC came to power in 2015.
He said the present leadership in the State was making effort to right the wrongs of the past and therefore the next four years will be prosperous for the party as he is certain that God's willing, the party will sweep the polls.
Governor Badaru expressed his happiness for receiving Barman Gumel in APC fold, because he is a great politician that will make impact.
