Corps Members have been warned to avoid all forms of social vices that may put them in trouble or tarnish the reputable image of the NYSC Scheme.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Bello gave this warning today in NYSC Orientation Camp Kubwa, Abuja, during the swearing in ceremony of the 2019 Batch 'A' Corps Members deployed to the FCT.
He also assured them that their security and overall well-being is an exclusive responsibility of the Federal Capital Territory Administration and NYSC.
In an address read on his behalf by the Secretary, Social Development Services, Hajiya Sefiat Umar, the Minister urged the Corps Members to imbibe patriotism, discipline, tolerance and hardwork stating that there is reward system in NYSC.
"Stay our of crime, illicit drugs and alcoholic beverages and marry your choices to reflect the tenets of the Oath of Allegiance you swore to", he said.
Alhaji Musa Bello also advised them to embrace Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme of the NYSC Scheme as the only alternative that could make them job and wealth creators.
"The FCTA remains a dependable partner to the NYSC Scheme and l charge you to be passionate about SAED programme as your future is created by what you do today and not tomorrow", the Minister said.
NYSC FCT Governing Board Chairman, Hajiya Sefiat Umar who was represented at the ceremony by the Director, Youth, Mrs Hajara Alayande admonished the Corps Members to be law abiding and participate in all Camp activities.
