It was a sad moment for staff and students of the Federal Polytechniic, Auchi last week when the decomposing body of one of the institution's lecturers was found in an uncompleted apartment at Igbira camp, Auchi.
Mr. Patrick Okojie, a lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the Polytechnic was said to have committed suicide three days to his 47th birthday.
He was due for promotion to the post of a Chief Instructor end of March 2019.
This blog learnt that he had made two previous attempts at committing suicide. Reason unknown to close associates.
Findings revealed that Mr. Okojie, who left behind three children and a wife left home on the 4th of March in his vehicle was found dead on the 8th while the rope he used to hang himself was found on his neck
Effort to get official statement of Auchi Polyyechnic management proved abortive as terse messages and calls made to the Institution's Public Relations Officer's, Mr. Mustapha Oshiobugie mobile phone were not responded to.
